VP of HR for Worldwide Operations at Amazon
Darcie Henry is VP of HR for WW Operations. Darcie joined Amazon in 1998. From 1998-2003, she worked in various HR and talent acquisition roles in Seattle and the US. She launched 5 fulfillment centers in the US in this time and helped company expand its shipment infrastructure from just books to also include CDs and VHS and many more products by 2003. She also helped with the acquisition of Joyo.com in China and launched new countries across Europe. In 2003 she took on global HR responsibility for Retail in Europe, Asia, and other international expansion efforts. In 2005, she moved to Europe and became the European leader of HR for Amazon across all corporate locations and helped build our HQ in Luxembourg. In 2013, she returned to the US and worked as HR leader for eCommerce Platform and Finance. In 2014, this role expanded to include head of HR for Finance, Legal, HR, and a start-up business that became Amazon’s entry into brick and mortar retail – Amazon Go and Amazon Books. She also formally led the formation of Amazon’s HR team that partnered with Amazon businesses on global expansion and mergers and acquisitions (GEMA). In 2016, Darcie transitioned to head of HR for Amazon Devices and GEMA and also briefly led HR for BizDev and Digital Advertising. In 2018, Darcie transitioned to leading HR for Amazon’s Worldwide Operations including fulfillment and delivery operations, operations technology, and customer service. Prior to joining Amazon, she partnered with her dad on his entrepreneurial ventures and in 1996 joined Executive Search Talent Acquisition where she worked for nearly two years on executive recruiting.
Darcie holds a B.A. in English from Seattle Pacific University and has completed continuing education courses through Cornell University and Stanford University. Darcie enjoys playing tennis, downhill skiing, and vacationing in her husband’s homeland of Croatia alongside her husband their three kids.
